Your past is to be learnt from, not lived in

We are continually tasked with finding meaning, self acceptance and inner peace throughout our life. Understanding own life story is the map which can guide us to that place.

Your story is unique to you and only you.

Throughout life we come across people who have perhaps shared experiences or backgrounds to us, but here’s the thing, there is not one other person on this earth who shares your inner world.

You will not find one other human being who has lived your exact experience!

So why is it that so many of us view our life and our experiences through the story of others? Why do we seek answers through the lens or guidance of other people’s experience, comparing without ever truly investigating or understanding the unique patterns and signature of our own life story first?

We are told by external world how we should act, think, feel and be in the world.  We often comply without questioning, if we are choosing or leading our own paths.  If we are coming from a place of autonomy or sovereignty.

When we find ourselves living a life full of anxiety and lacking joy, we need to delve a little deeper into our own life story. By the time we are in our mid thirties, ninety percent of who we are is a memorised set of behaviours, emotional reactions, unconscious behaviours and hard wired habits that function like a program. By bringing awareness to our deeply unconscious programming and our ancestral genetic blueprint, we can create change.  When we understand how past trauma it is held in our emotional body and not just the mind, we can take control when our body wants to return to it’s emotional past.

Working with your own story through biography is a powerful framework that can help you make sense of life from a very different perspective and create a defined vision for the future.

The longing to tell one’s story and the process of telling is symbolically a gesture of longing to recover the past in such a way that one experiences both a sense of reunion and a sense of release.

Understanding Life Stages

Until you understand your own life story and not just the list of chronological life events but rather the inner experience and the beliefs born of those events, it can be really challenging for you to have self-love and compassion for;

  • Who you are or think you are
  • The way you think
  • How you feel in this world
  • Your connection to your pain
  • The unhealed parts of self
  • Your inner wounding and trauma
  • The anxiety and energy disturbances that arise in your somatic body.
  • Your ancestral trauma and genetic blueprint

Is this right for me?

A good check in to see if this is something that resonates, ask yourself if;

  • Am I listening to me in every now moment or am I listening to something external?
  • When it comes to my knowingness my truth or what feels right, what am I listening to?
  • Am I following or am I leading myself through life based on what I want and how I want to see things?
  • Do I have unhelpful behaviours continually appear in my life?
  • Am I experiencing destructive patterns that seem to mirror from each phase of life into the next?
  • Do I wake up each day with the same problems, thoughts, anxiety?
  • Do I have recurring dreams and experiences that continually cause me discomfort?
  • Am I experiencing ongoing chronic body symptoms that just won’t go away?

Perhaps you find yourself thinking, here we go again, this is the story of my life and I don’t know how to change things.

Life Stages

You see every period of life has its own point and its own purpose.

By working consciously with our own biography through a therapeutic framework, you can truly develop the capacity to value who you are, understand yourself on a far deeper level and see what connects you to both your cultural and spiritual past.

Importantly, this work can help you cleanse your past conditioning, unhelpful limiting beliefs and help you embrace life transition’s, re-awaken to your own life myth, higher self and soul’s purpose.

Until we can bring awareness to our unconscious programming, the brain will continue to wire and fire the same circuits.  Then our past experiences are destined to become our future experiences.  If you are not creating and intending every next now moment and allowing the external to create them for you, reclaiming your sovereignty and own unique power is going to be challenging.

By bringing awareness to your unconscious programming, your genetic blueprint and the limiting beliefs born of your life experience, you can create and fire new thoughts aligned with the future you wish to create.

Client Experience

‘When I came to Helen for support, I found the space held was warm, educational, supportive and transformational. The healing space where the gifts shared in our sessions allowed me to explore deeper my own story and the pictures that stemmed from my childhood and continued into my adult life. The awareness that was made in these sessions, allowed changes to organically occur.

Psychotherapy is where it’s at for me, I have done a lot, and more is definitely needed, it’s not because I’m ‘sick’, but because I don’t ever want to be stuck, and the vast mystery of my psyche with the ever changing pulses of life keep me striving to unravel this lifetime, to ensure I make the most of this lifetime. Each moment brings new creations that are riddled with our past experiences.

Thank you Helen for your continued support, care and educational tools that help me on a daily basis.”

Why working with this framework is helpful

From early childhood our personalities and bodies are shaped by our responses to our external environment. As we move from each phase of life into the next, we can see how themes or patterns can mirror and repeat.  The idea of life myth is that we all have a pattern or direction in life and there is a blueprint behind this.  It can show up in dreams, childhood experiences, memories and this pattern often weaves its way throughout our life.

The Life Myth is like a tune, a fairy tale or story, that we are born with; the theme is given but the way we live it is our own choice.  We are designed with awareness that goes far beyond thinking and this journey and process, gifts us with an opportunity to delve into our own life and the teaching it has for us.

This is a powerful, creative and multi dimensional process which helps us bring all aspects of the ‘self’ into being.  It gifts us with an opportunity to shine light and journey deeply into our often unconscious patterns and beliefs thus allowing us to create change in becoming the creator of our own destiny.  It allows us to believe in a future that we have not yet experienced.

As you start working with this process, you start to practice your stepping into your own sovereignty.

This then gives you the opportunity to change the narrative of your own story.
